SAMANTHA, Ala. - The Northside Lions Club celebrated its 38th annual Walking and Racking Horse Show on a hot, humid evening in Samantha, Ala., on Saturday, June 27, 2009. Jimmy Carnathan was on hand to judge the 35-class event. Sid Abernathy swapped roles from his usual place behind the camera and served as announcer, while Charles Ritchie entertained at the organ.

Impressive Motion and Larry Latham were crowned the Walking Horse Stake Champions out of five contenders for Scott and Joe Cooper. This team also topped the Booneville, Miss., Stake class.
