Copyright Walking Horse Report

Rick Insell was elected to the Board of Directors of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration at their annual Association meeting last night in Shelbyville, Tenn.  Insell is currently the Women's Head Basketball Coach at Middle Tennessee State University and has been a member of the Celebration Association for 20 years.

Insell and his family are long-time supporters of The Celebration and have been active in the Walking Horse industry for many years.  Insell replaces retiring Celebration Board Chairman Henry Hulan and will serve under the new Chairman Buddy Nelson, who was elected to head the Board.  Insell is married to the former Deborah Spry of Woodbury, Tenn., who owns and operates an insurance company in Shelbyville.  They have three sons - Tom, Kyle and Matt.

The Celebration Association voted to expand their membership from 40 to 50 and elected ten new members to the Association: Todd Bobo, Scott Cocanougher, Ben Craig, Randal Harvey, Jeffrey Howard, Cort Huffman, Claudia Doobie Mallard, Daryl O'Neal, Liza Palmer, Laura Parham, Sheila Roark and Chris White. They also voted to change the date of the annual meeting to a date in January with a 60 day notice requirement.
