CULLMAN, Ala. - The Fairview Lions Club Charity 22nd annual horse show, April 12, 2008, was a huge success. Held at the Cullman Agriculture Trade Center, Scotty Brooks judged the 28 walking and 12 racking classes. Jazz King and Jack Way claimed the Walking Stake for new owner Ben Beard of Troy, Ala.

The last three weekends, Alabama has held great horse shows; two in Cullman and one in Huntsville with over 900 head of horses.

“Alabama has a lot of good quality horse shows, and we can always depend on good competition from their show circuit. I also think adding Riders’ Cup classes has brought in more horses,” said Tennessee trainer Philip Trimble.

“Customers in Alabama have really invested in some good quality horses, which always makes for a good horse show. The Riders’ Cup program has also had an affect on the number and quality of entries,” stated Alabama trainer Larry Latham.

Many barns won multiple blue ribbons, including Clark Farms, Rising Star Ranch, Tim Smith Stables, Wolf Creek Stables, Philip Trimble Stables, Latham Stables and Connie Waldo.
