LIVINGSTON, Tenn. - The Overton County Fair Open Walking Horse Show was held on Saturday night, July 26, 2008, at the Overton County Fairgrounds. The talented contenders worked for the approval of Judge Steve Clark of Arab, Ala., during the 30-class event.

The weather was hot and humid but there were lots of refreshments to be found on the midway for the huge number in attendance. The Overton County show ring is large and afforded plenty of room for the approximately 200 contenders that worked for Judge Clark’s attention.

The Walking Horse Stake class was low in numbers but high in talent as three top horses and their trainers worked for that elusive blue ribbon. When every thing was said and done, it was JB Buchanan and the four-year-old Generation’s Triple XXX making the victory pass for Teddy and Bernice Turner. Gen’s Drop Of Sun and Chris Pickel made the good red ribbon ride and Scott Beaty and Joe Hand rode to the third place slot for the Lewis Kenney family.
