Long time walking horse enthusiast, Mr. Jimmie D. “Jim” Wheeler, age 75, of Paducah, formerly of Sedalia, Ky. passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, Ky.  He was a member of Sedalia Baptist Church.

Mr. Wheeler was co-owner of Wheeler-McClain Ford Lincoln Mercury in Mayfield Ky. and N.B. Wheeler and Son Feed and Supply in Sedalia.  He also was owner of Dairy Queen in Mayfield, Ky. at one time.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Moody Wheeler; two daughters, Wendy Wheeler of Paducah and Penny (Jim) Heath of Mayfield; four grandsons, Dain (Emily) Wilson of Paducah, Andrew (Kristin) Heath of Dublin, Ohio, Landon Heath of Richmond, Virginia, and Brooks Heath of Cincinnati, Ohio; and one great grandson, Aidan Wilson.  Also surviving are two sisters, Bonnie Wheeler McMillan of Mayfield and Janice Jackson Kendall of Golo, as well as one nephew, R. Sann (Evelyn) Gossum of Sante Fe, New Mexico and one niece, Brandi Jackson (Ray) Stiff of Springfield, Virginia.

Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by his parents, N.B. and Beauton Wheeler; infant brother, Jackie Shay Wheeler; and one nephew, Tye Wheeler Jackson.

Services were held at Burns Funeral Home in Mayfield, Ky.
