Long time Walking Horse owner Joe Dawn passed away Sunday morning, June 22, 2003, in Shelbyville, Tenn, Joe's daughter Mandy has enjoyed great success in the showring and her father was a fixture on the rail supporting her.

Dawn passed away after a lengthy illness with his family by his side. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at the Midland Heights Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Midland Heights Baptist Church.
