FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Around 400 horse people gathered on Saturday, February 16, 2002 at the new barn of Knox and Stacey Blackburn in Franklin, Tennessee. Everyone enjoyed visiting the new facility, the hot stew and corn bread, and visiting with friends. In addition to viewing the 52 stall barn, the crowd was able to view 60 top colts shown by Knox Blackburn and other trainers. The mood was a reflection of the lovely weather and enthusiasm was high as good colt after good colt made their way in front of the bleachers to strutt their stuff down one side of the long hallway. Mike Carpenter introduced each colt with trainer, sire and dam and speculation was high as to which would be the next champion in 2002.
