The Kentucky Walking Horse Board of Director's met Wednesday, September 6, 2006 and President Earl Rogers, Jr. releases the following statement.

Regretfully, and after much consideration we have chosen to cancel this year's Kentucky Walking Horse Celebration. This comes as a result of recent actions taken by the USDA and APHIS toward exhibitors at other Tennessee Walking Horse shows. In fact, these actions were so extreme that for the first time in over 70 years there was no World Grand Champion crowned at the National Celebration in Shelbyville, Tennessee. Until changes are made, we wish to avoid similar incidents at our show. While these events are unfortunate, we sincerely apologize to those affected by this cancellation. We hope to see you at next year's show.

Earl Roger, Jr., President
