TAZEWELL, Tenn. - The New Tazewell 20th annual Walking and Racking Horse Show was hosted by the Tazewell Jaycees and the Claiborne County Fair Association on June 7, 2008, at the Claiborne County Fairgrounds. With the money from the horse show, fair, motorcycle poker run and derby car ticket sales, the non-profit clubs are able to donate money to cancer funds, improve the show grounds and help the elderly and those who are less fortunate.

The temperatures were in the upper 90s with very few clouds in sight, but the fairgrounds were full of horse trailers. Donny May marked the cards in the walking classes and Roger Adkins judged the URHOEA racking classes for the 30-class event, with a total of 145 entrees.

There were a total of five talented horses that made the gate call in the Walking Horse Stake class. All horses were asked to perform all three gates and then to show the flat walk and running walk once again. When they lined up, Sweeping Up The Cash and Larry Wheelon were called out as the victorious team. Wheelon and Koger are the proud owners of this top entry. This team not only took home the cash, but the blue ribbon and floral blanket as well as thrilled the fans.
