Beam’s Shalimar died on Father’s Day, June 21, 2009, at 23 years old. In her life, she won four world championships, multiple reader’s choice awards and numerous other ribbons.

Doyle Wayne George purchased Beam’s Shalimar for me to win the 15.2 & Under Amateur class. So many told Doyle Wayne she was not for a beginning rider, but he insisted (as only Doyle Wayne can) and luckily that dream came true.

Doyle Wayne loved that little mare as well as all talented walking horses. He taught me one especially valuable lesson, “To live life with a passion for living.”

During your busy, hectic schedule please take one moment to remember a farmer from Kentucky with a twinkle in his eye and a great love for good friends and good horses. He was my husband and my life.

Also, please try to remember Beam’s Shalimar, a little bay mare with fire in her eyes and a winning attitude. She was my mare.

Sincerely,
Anita George
