Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to squelch rumors about any involvement that I may have in regard to forming a new HIO.

There have been some verbal attacks upon me and my family regarding this and I want to set the record straight.

I have never talked or had a representative talk on my behalf about any governing policies concerning the Tennessee Walking Horse, nor have I been involved in any part of the feasibility study of an HIO for the United Mountain Horse Association.

Presently my business is with the Rocky Mountain horse industry, however, I do not serve in any official capacity on any boards of any kind within that or any equine industry. I am simply a member of the United Mountain Horse Association and a member of TWHBEA.

I have been a loyal and avid supporter, owner and trainer of the Tennessee Walking Horse breed for over 40 years, and I still own broodmares, colts, pleasure horses and show horses.

Sincerely,

H. T. Derickson III
