Louie Garland George - Obituary

Mr. Louie Garland George age 72, of Shelbyville, Tenn., passed away Wed., March 5, 2014. He was born June 27, 1941 in Cullman, Ala. He is survived by his wife Jessie Crumley-George of Shelbyville. Louie trained Tennessee Walking Horses from the mid 70’s to the early 90’s. Louie was one of the first 100 trainers to obtain his training license through the WHTA. Louie trained in Ga., Ala., and Tenn.

Known as the “ little guy with the big heart”. He trained well known horses such as Ebony Cut Above, Backwoodsman, Esau By Hacksaw and Bum’s Showboat. Louie and his wife were married for 50 years on Jan 25, 2014. He loved the Tennessee Walking Horse and the Industry.
