Mississippi Association Announces Scholarships

The MWHA is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of their annual scholarship is Jessica Phillips and Michelle Walker. Both young ladies are receiving a scholarship in the amount of $500.00.
Jessica is the daughter of Mark and Cindy Phillips of Olive Branch, Mississippi. She graduated from Desoto Central with a 3.95 GPA and will be attending Mississippi State University this fall. Jessica and her family have shown horses out of Abernathy Stables, and most recently, Summer Crest Farm. Jessica finished third in overall points in the Juvenile 12-17 class last year with her mare, Magic’s Champion Lady.
Michelle is the daughter of Joe and Cheryl Walker of Hernando, Mississippi. Michelle graduated from Hernando High School with a 3.60 GPA and will be attending Baptist Health Sciences’ nursing program this fall. Michelle and her younger sister, Lauren, have shown for several years out of Summer Crest Farm. Michelle finished first in Juvenile 12 – 17 and Overall Highpoint Horse last year with Spellbound Generator.
We wish both of the fine young ladies much success in their education and future endeavors.
