National Horse Protection Society Says Thanks...

Copyright 2006

Thanks to Jerry Johnson, DVM, for assembling an elite panel of equine veterinarians who are also intimately involved in the animal welfare programs of their respective disciplines. As a result of their input and suggestions, a model organizational chart and criteria were established which have proven to be effective throughout virtually all equine disciplines.

Thanks to the Walking Horse Trainers Association, Walking Horse Owners Association, Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, National Horse Show Commission, and Kentucky's Horse Industry Organization, along with the NHPS, for their endorsement of the mission statement of the NHPS, and for their assistance in providing name of individuals with integrity, vision, and commitment to serve on NHPS committees to accomplish the mission statement goals.

We look forward to working with the NHSC and the KY HIO to further refine both short-term and long-term goals relating not only to compliance issues but to rules, judging, education, outreach, and such other initiatives that best serve the horse and those that love him, and to establish a common sense structure that is transparent, accountable and responsive.
