DOBSON, N.C. - The 10th annual Foothills Classic was held at Fisher River Park in Dobson, N.C., on June 14. The proceeds from the show went to benefit the Surry County Children’s Center. The show management announced that over $12,000 was raised for the center. They wished to thank all the many sponsors who helped in this worthy cause.

 David Fingers did the honors of judging the 36-class show, which consisted of five SSHBEA classes and 31 walking classes. Madison Holloway presented the flag with her mount The Razz Man. Alex Nichols sang the national anthem, while Austin Bonner gave the invocation for the opening ceremonies.

The show ended with four worthy teams vying for the stake honors, floral horseshoe and the Lana Finney Memorial Challenge trophy. The judge’s call went to the team of Derek Monahan and Nightfall At The Ritz. Rom Folger of Dobson is the proud owner of this outstanding horse. Coming in at the reserve position was the team of Chad Baucom and LAPD for owner Joey Tidwell.
