Obituary Donnie Betts
Donnie Earl Betts, 53, of Rives, died June 23, 2005, as a result of a traffic accident.
He was born July 29, 1951, in Cook County, Ill., son of Doris Simmons Betts of Union City and the late James Carthel Betts.
He married the former Pam King Aug. 4, 1973. She survives. He was a contractor for the U.S. Postal Services and a real estate property manager and investor. He was owner of The Chalet Company in Gatlinburg, Tenn., and a member of Union City First Baptist Church.
Survivors also include two sons, William Barrett Betts and James Byron Betts, both of Rives; his sister, Cindy McAdams of Greenfield; his niece, Amber Harris of Jackson; and his mother-in-law, Nelda King of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Willard King.
Even though Donnie was not an exhibitor of the Tennessee Walking Horse his love and support for his wife Pam and her showing career were evident by his presence on the rail.
