Obituary – Norma Green

Norma V. Green, 92, Pensacola, FL passed away June 25, 2018. Norma Green was an avid horse woman who traveled extensively to show horses with the love of her life, C.A."Bud" Green. She and Bud had such a wonderful life together, she always said "don't worry about me, I've done it all'. She touched so many people throughout her life and those that knew her also knew her deep love for all animals.
She is preceded in death by her husband, C.A. "Bud" Green; sisters, Joel and Mildred; brother, Jack Richardson, and her beloved dog, "Specks". She is survived by her daughters, Susan Schwingel and Patty Russell and her son, Rod Russell.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Flannigan officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park Cemetery.

The Walking Horse Trainers’ Association held their annual general membership meeting on December 1, 2023 at the headquarters of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ Association. The change in venue is due to the change in the Horse of the Year banquet from this traditional weekend in December to February.

Kathy Gilliam-Cole has been elected as the director for the State of Washington for a two-year term to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Linda Arnold. The election was sent to a runoff following an initial tie between Gilliam-Cole and Jo Cheek.
