Obituary - Carol Ann Gavin

Carol Ann Gavin, age 78, passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Adams Place in Murfreesboro, TN. She was a native of Lanett, AL and lived in Georgia and Tennessee most of her life. She was a wonderful southern lady, avid gardner and lover of life, who never once met a stranger. Carol Ann was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dalton, GA.
Carol Ann was the daughter of the late George W. and Alma S. Hart. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles E. "Chuck" Gavin IV. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Gavin III of Dalton, GA and Wartrace, TN, daughter, Tamara (Thomas R.) Gavin Kasser of Wartrace, son, Todd (Teresa Renz) Gavin of Dalton, GA, daughter-in-law, Kimberly K. Gavin of Chattanooga, brother, George W. (Mary) Hart Jr. of Covington, GA, grandchildren; Gillian H. Kasser, Connor T. Kasser, Gavin T. Kasser and Mason Gavin.
Carol Ann was a gracious hostess who made sure everyone around her enjoyed their time together. Carol Ann was loved dearly by her family and friends and she will be greatly missed. There will be a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. CST Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Bethsalem Community Chapel, 205 Knob Creek Road, Wartrace, TN 37183. The family will receive friends following her service in her garden at Belle Meadow Farm, 6701 Hwy 64 East, Wartrace, TN 37183.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harvest Outreach in Dalton, GA, Auburn University Foundation Carol Ann's Garden, or Vanderbilt University The Gavin Family Fellowship.
