Obituary- Catherine Cannon Wall

Catherine Cannon Wall, age 92, of Marion, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2005 at Parkridge Hospital in Fletcher. Born in Johnson City, TN on September, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Edgar Oscar and Kate McNeely Cannon. Mrs. Wall was a lifetime member of Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Circle and Garden Age Club. A homemaker, she lived a life of service to her family and her community, including being active in McDowell County Clean Sweep, volunteering at the McDowell County Welcome Center, the Red cross and the Pleasant Gardens Home Extension Club. Her husband, Arthur W. Wall, preceded her in death.

Surviving Mrs. Wall are two children: Richard A Wall and wife Nicki of Shelbyville, TN and Sam L. Wall and wife Tommie of Matthews, NC; one brother Jay Cannon of Nebo; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, September 16 , 2005 at 2:00p.m. at Pleasant Gardens Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Allen officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 12:30 - 2:00pm. Burial will be in McDowell Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Keep McDowell Beautiful, c/o the Catherine Cannon Wall Living Memorial at 60 E. Court St. Marion, NC 28752. Westmoreland Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
