Obituary - Charlie "Red" Strickland

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. - Charlie "Red" Strickland, 74, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011. Owner of Southaven Auto Sales; he was also an Army veteran and a Shriner. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 29, 2011, at Longview Heights Baptist Church, 4501 Goodman Road, Olive Branch. Visitation will be Thursday, July 28, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Hill South Cemetery.
Strickland was preceded in death by his son, Ronald A. Strickland, and grandson, Ronald A. Strickland, Jr. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Dorothy "Dot" Strickland; two daughters, Carol Elise Hutchinson of Ponte Verda Beach, Fla., and Charlotte Ausburn of Olive Branch; two sisters, Martha Wise of Germantown, Tenn., and Charlene Bradley of Collierville, Tenn.; one brother, John Strickland of Hernando; three grandchildren, Nicholas Bowman, Crystal Ausburn and Kristopher Ausburn, and one great-granddaughter, Kate Bowman.
Strickland was a longtime walking horse exhibitor and supporter of the industry.
