Dianne Chappell Judge, of Sanderson Rd., Chesapeake, Va., passed away Monday, March 19, 2007, in her home. Born Aug. 12, 1949 in Norfolk, Va., and raised in Chesapeake, she was the daughter of Allen B. Chappell and Leona Ownes Chappell. She was a 1967 graduate of Oscar F. Smith High School. Judge was employed at Stan’s Muffler & Brake, where she worked with her husband, Donald. Both Judge and her husband were huge supporters of the walking horse and were customers at Chad Williams Stables. They have owned many horses including Magic Spook, Extreme Danger, Pusher’s Perfect Score and Santana’s Chief Sundance.
Judge courageously battled ovarian cancer for the past 10 years. Her never ending devotion to her husband and girls, with God’s help, gave her strength to fight this battle. Her blessed gift to family and friends was her never fading smile, and sense of humor which those around her received strength. Left to cherish Judge’s memory is her loving husband of 27 years, Donald Judge of Chesapeake; three daughters, Jenny Wiley of Chesapeake, Kelly Duke of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Christina Judge of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Helena, Malani and James Lee; her sister, Dolores Murphy and husband Earnest of Chesapeake.
