Obituary - Dr. John F. (Jack) Duckworth

Dr. John F. (Jack) Duckworth, age 90, of Rockwood, Tenn., passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at his residence. Dr. Duckworth was born in Blairsville, GA., on August 24, 1922 to Frank C. Duckworth & Christine Jackson Duckworth. He retired after 54 years as a Veterinarian. Dr. Duckworth was a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church, Kingston, Tenn., where he served as Sunday school teacher, tape ministry and was on the Church History Committee. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Greeneville & Rockwood #409 F & AM and was an avid computer & genealogist enthusiast.
Dr. Duckworth was an avid walking horse enthusiast; breeding, training and showing. His final showing ring performance netted a blue at the 1998 Smoky Mountain Classic aboard Royal Mountain's Image in the English Trail Pleasure Specialty class.
Dr. Duckworth was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Greene Duckworth; parents, Frank & Christine Duckworth; brother, Ancel Lee Duckworth.

Daughters: Jackie Thompson and husband, Preston of Milner, GA
Judy Simms of Harriman, TN
Sons: Frank Duckworth of Greeneville, TN
David Allen Greene and wife Bonnie of Harriman, TN
Daughter: Margie Young and husband, Clyde of Rockwood, TN
5 Grandchildren: Jamie Payne, Jennifer Mancer, Mark Humphries, Sherry Love, Jonny Young

The family received friends Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, Tenn. The service followed at 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Evans Mortuary with Rev. Charles Kelley officiating. Interment and burial were held Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood, Tenn. Evans Mortuary served the family of Dr. John F. (Jack) Duckworth.
