Edwin A. Gallun Jr. "Ned", father of prominent Walking Horse owner and exhibitor, Lisa Baum, passed away on December 14, 2016. He was 85 years old. 

Ned was born in Milwaukee, WI. He attended Country Day School in Milwaukee and spent summers on Pine Lake. He was a graduate of St. Mark's Boarding School and proud graduate of Yale University Class of 1953. Upon graduation from Yale he served in the Army and was stationed in Germany, where he met the love of his life. In 1973 he bought Metalcraft of Mayville, a little company in Mayville, WI, and built it into a world-class manufacturer with over 800 employees and two locations. 

Ned was an outdoorsman, enjoying golf, fishing and hunting. He was a great man who was passionate about freedom, education and had a deep love of the Lord. Ned started the deep love of horses’s that Lisa still holds by putting her on her first horse.
 
Ned was the loving husband of Elfriede (nee Jatzkowski) for 59 years. Dear dad of Lisa (James) Baum, Amanda (Tom) Wood and Martin (Angela) Gallun. Proud grandpa of Jacob (Brittany) Baum, Luke Baum, Nathan Raitmaier, Connor and Tyler Gallun. Brother of Douglas "Tony" (the late Nancy) Gallun and Arthur "Sandy" (Elaine) Gallun. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his sister Lorna (the late Dr. James) Schelble.
