Johnny Buel Sorrell, Father of well known amateur exhibitor Sam Sorrell passed away suddenly April 1, 2005 at his home in Hillsboro Ky. Funeral services were held at the Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro on April 6. Pall Bearers were Ronnie Vincent, Joe Cotten, Marvin Black, Roy and Harold Sorrell, Larry Johnson, William Humphries Serving as Honorary Pall Bearers were Martin Story, Bert Jones,Vencil Eldridge, Bobby and Harold Porter.

Mr. Sorrell was a lifelong supporter of the Republican Party and the services were opened with a very touching letter from Ky Govenor Ernie Fletcher to the Sorrell family.

Mr. Sorrell and his late wife Juanita who passed away in Jan. 2005 always had the greatest love for TWH and its people found so much pride and enjoyment watching Sam train and show the many horses they raised to WC honors. The Sorrells have been associated with such horses as: RWC THE NASHVILLE GIRL, RWC MARK OF NASHVILLE, RWC EBONY'S EVIL DOER, WC IM JOHNNY BE GOOD, SKY WALKER and one of their special favorites THEY CALL ME DOC plus many others since 1964.

Survivors include children, Sam Sorrell, Tommy Sorrell, Judy Mullins Billy Jolly, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grand child and several nieces and nephews, Johnny and Juanita Sorrell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved them.
