Obituary - Judy Stamey Jones

Judy Stamey Jones, age 65, passed away peacefully at her home on June 14, 2015. She was born in Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Wayne and Jane Gregory Stamey. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert Holcombe.
Judy was owner of Judy Jones Trucking in Fletcher, NC and The Loralei Inn in Canton, NC. Judy served on the Board of Directors of the Racking Horse Breeders Association for more than 30 years and was active as an owner and rider of show horses. Judy received many accolades for her dedication to the transportation and equine industries. She is survived by her daughter, Lora Holcombe; beloved granddaughter, Annie Holcombe; nephew, Austin Gregory; sister, Jan Stamey Wiggins and her husband, Robbie; companion, Jeff Phillips; niece, Katie Thomas and her husband, Robert; special cousin, Jimmy Gregory and his wife, Joyce; grandnephew, Liam Thomas; grandniece, Kiptyn Thomas; and numerous extended family and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Susan Pillsbury officiating. Burial will follow at Long's Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

On March 8, 2026, RWGC Incredible Machine passed away following complications from colic. Incredible Machine was sired by Jose’ Jose’ and out of an Out On Parole mare named I’m Honey On Parole. Judy Keeton Pierce, age 83, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026.Judy was born to Robbie McGregor Keeton and was lovingly adopted and raised by Lawrence Keeton, who she knew as her father. She was known for her strength, her vibrant personality, and her deep love for family and friends. Though small in stature, she was truly a “dynamite in a small package.”
