Lawrence (L.E.) Byard, 79, Clarksville, died Thursday, February 21, 2008, at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville.

 

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 24 at First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem with Rev. Jeff Burris and Rev. Steve Murphree officiating.

 

Burial will be in Austin-Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Saturday, February 23 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Chapel and from 1 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem. McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

He was born September 16, 1928 in Montgomery County son of George W. Byard and Lela Maude Clemmons Byard. He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Logan Byard. Mr. Byard was a retired owner of Byard and Son Construction Company and a member and Deacon of First Baptist Church of St. Bethlehem.

 

He is survived by his wife, Reecie Heflin Byard, Clarksville; sons, Dean Byard, Nashville, Tommy (Robin) Byard, Clarksville; daughters, Diane (Steve) Murphree, Shelbyville, Donna (Roy) Franklin, Lafayette, KY, Debbie (Anthony) Hagewood, Herndon, KY; grandchildren, Cheri Taylor, Jessica Johnson, Brandon Byard, Casey Burrahm, Stacy Murphree, Jason Hagewood, Jordan Hagewood; great-grandchildren, Sydney, McKenzie, Landon and Madyson Johnson, Hudson and Drew Taylor, Caroline Burrahm. Pallbearers will be Jason Hagewood, Donnie Johnson, Josh Burrahm, Brandon Byard, George Shelton, Billy Atkins, Jimmy Harris and Mike Collins.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School Class.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to 
Midland Heights Baptist Church Building Fund or Mission Fund.
