LEE ROY LOWMAN age 83 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Tuesday Nov. 4, 2008 at the Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. A native of Valdese, NC he was the son of the late W. D. and Dorothy Flora Lowman.
Survived by wife; Dorothy Virginia O’Sail Lowman, son and daughter- in- law, Larry and Terry Lowman of Shelbyville, TN, daughter and son- in- law, Ebbra and Vince Lee of Smyrna, TN, brother and sister- in- law, Alfred and Dottie Lowman of Connelly Springs, NC, sisters, Tots Huffman of Valdese, NC, Dorothea Mull of Morganton, NC, and Betty Shay of Jacksonville, NC. Grandchildren, Larry Lowman II, Erika and Jay Mann, Christopher (Antonia) Helton, Brian (Connie) Lee, Timothy (Crystal) Lee, J.R. (Crystal) Lee and Sherry (Jimmy) Hirlston. Mr. Lowman was also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00AM Friday at Middle Tennessee Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Hutson officiating. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Lowman was a member of Middle Tennessee Baptist Church and was a WW II US Army Air Force veteran. Mr. Lowman was supervisor of maintenance with the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center, and also was employed with Cummings Sign, and TVA. Mr. Lowman was a member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge # 18 in Murfreesboro, the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders Association, National Bird Dog Association, past President of the Tennessee State Bird Dog Association, and a member of the Spotted Saddle Horse Association. Active pallbearers will be Brian, Timothy, and J. R. Lee, Jimmy Hirlston, Larry Lowman, II, Brian Lail, Bruce Smart, and Albert Huffman, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl P. Mayfield, Dr. Wayne Westmorland, Jerry Williams, Phillip Calahan, and Lynn Norris, Robert Webb, and Allen Lowman. Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
