Obituary - Leon L. Forrester

Mr. Leon L. Forrester, age 89, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Van Ayer Nursing and Rehab Center in Martin, Tenn.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 20, 2015, Gardner Church of Christ at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Michael Gilbert and Larry Powers officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday at the church until funeral time at 2:00 P.M.

Mr. Forrester was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Jean Hogan Forrester. He is survived by his sons, Nicky (Elaine) Forrester of Fulton, KY and Danny (Beth) Forrester of Dresden, TN; his daughter, Clara (David) Hays of Martin; two sisters, Betty Stogsdill and Dorris Forrester both of Union City, TN; eight grandchildren, David (Andrea) Forrester, Ann Forrester, Bucky (Allison) Forrester, Chad (Lori) Forrester, Kent (Brittany) Forrester, Keith (Ginger) Forrester, Bryan (Jennifer) Hays and Elise Hays; 12 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Forrester was a retired foreman for Brown Shoe Company in Union City, Tenn., and retired as Assistant Ag Pavilion director at The University of Tennessee at Martin. He was also a proficient Farrier. He was an avid lover of Tennessee Walking horses. Mr. Forrester was a veteran; U.S. Marine (WWII) and a member of the Gardner Church of Christ.
