Lillie Virginia Davenport, 55, of Clear Spring, Maryland passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at her home. Born May 23, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Reed and Florence McDonald Frantz.

Lillie was a well known owner and exhibitor in the mid-Atlantic area and at the International and the Celebration on her park pleasure mount, Double Trouble E C, and her amateur horses, Parade’s Grand Prix and Reflection Of Shaker. In later years, Davenport supported her family’s show horses, Ain’t Life Grand, The Angel Edition, and Ebony’s Double Take to name a few.

She and her husband owned Pusher’s Code Blue and Gen’s Gold Fury, who were being prepared for the 2002 show season. Lillie won numerous awards but she was particularly proud of her children and her daughter winning the WHOA High Point Equitation award in 1987 through 1989.

Lillie served as show manager for Tri-State Walking Horse Association for several years and was annual banquet chairman since 1982. She was a member of the TWHBEA, WHOA, and a charter member of the Tri-State Walking Horse Association. Davenport could also be found assisting her husband, Bob, when he was a DQP for over 10 years with WHOA and later with the NHSC.
