Mabel Johnson Jackson, a long time horse enthusiast and supporter, passed awaySaturday, January 17, 2009 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center following an illness.
 
A native of Franklin Co., she was born, May 30, 1926. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kentucky Walking Horse Association and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She also was a member of North Frankfort Baptist Church.
 
She was thewidow of the late William Jackson, a long time KWHA board member and recent inductee into the KWHA hall of fame.
 
She is survived by her sons, Billy Jackson (Lea Ann) and John Jackson (Anne), both of Frankfort; daughters, Phyllis Stigers (Larry), Midway and Judy Scott (Jeff), Lawrenceburg; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
 
She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Harrod and her grandson, Brandon Mahoney.
