Oscar "Steve" Byerly of  Maxton, N.C., formerly of High Point, N.C., died on August 12, 2008.  A Tennessee Walking Horse trainer, judge, and steward, he was associated with many farms including Shadow Valley Farms and Dr. James Johnson, Windcrest Stables and Dr. Henry Escue, and most recently with Randall Jones Stables of Pembroke, NC.  He leaves behind a host of friends to carry on his love for horses.
