Obituary - Paul Edward Allison

Paul Edward Allison, 77, of Shelbyville, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010. He is a native of Bedford County and the son of the late Paul Edward Allison Sr. and Minnie Lokey Allison. He was married to Nancy Wright Allison who preceded him in death in 2003.

Mr. Allison was retired from Sanford Corporation after 38 years of service and was also a veteran of the United States Navy. He was also a member of the Abundant Life Church in Shelbyville.

He was an avid sports enthusiast who spent 20 years coaching and umpiring local youth baseball. Mr. Allison's favorite past times were fishing and following UT sports.

Mr. Allison is survived by four children: Randy P. (Marcia) Allison, Rita (Bob) McBee, Renee (Roger) Clanton and Ricky C. (Laura) Allison all of Shelbyville. He is also survived by one sister: Grace Glosson of Shelbyville and one brother: Melvin Allison of Orlando, Fla., 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Gowen-Smith Chapel. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Gowen-Smith with Reverend Don Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville, Tenn.
