Paula Thompson McDonald, 66, of Raleigh, Miss., died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Raleigh United Methodist Church in Raleigh.
 
Mrs. McDonald was a lifelong member of Raleigh United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Gamma Omega Sorority and a former member of the Raleigh Women's Club.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul D. and Mary Joe Currie Thompson. 
 
She is survived by husband Jimmy McDonald, Raleigh, Miss., three children: Stacey Swain (Anthony), Eric McDonald, Carla Canoy (Gary), all of Raleigh, Miss., and seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 
 
The Thompson and McDonald families have been active in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry for many years, standing many top-notch stallions and raising many well-bred foals from their broodmares at their facilities in Raleigh, Miss. Mrs. McDonald’s father, the late Paul Thompson, was inducted into the Mississippi Walking Horse Association Hall of Fame.
