Obituary - Rickey Derrick

Rickey D. Derrick, age 46, of Dandridge, passed away, Monday, May 11, 2009. He worked many years at Bush Brothers, but left to work with horses. Most weekends he could be found watching his son ride Tennessee Walking Horses. During the week he and Cricket, his best friend, could be found working at Hubert Henry Stables.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bonnie and Palmer Hill, Sr., Cal and Della Derrick, Louettie Gentry; and special and aunt, Margaret Hill. Survived by his wife, Kim Derrick; sons, Brandon Derrick and Shannon Ivey; granddaughter, Kandra Ivey; parents, Eva and Claude Derrick; sister, Kathy Derrick; mother-in-law, Betty Gentry; brother-in-law, Craig Gentry; special uncle Jr. Hill; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends; also special friends, Hubert, Sue, W. D., Jill and Chasity.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 13, 2009 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Clark and Rev, Lynn Henry officiating. Burial will follow in Hills-Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Manes Funeral Home.
