Obituary - Robert Douglas Clendenon

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Robert Douglas Clendenon, 83, was born July 15, 1928 and died March 25, 2012 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., following a sudden illness. The retired Vice-President of lumber sales with Burroughs-Ross-Colville Company, United States Army veteran of Korea and member of Central Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Marcus Clendenon and Reta Chambers Clendenon Shirley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, L.C. Clendenon.
He was married June 7, 1953 to Doris Elam Clendenon of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Amy Clendenon of Nashville, Tenn.; sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Lonnie Rains of McMinnville; two nephews, Matthew (Felena) Rains of McMinnville and Landy (Jan) Clendenon of Birmingham, Ala.; niece, Victoria (Tracy) Hudson of Huntsville, and great-nephew and great-nieces, Jake Rains and Lauren and Haley Clendenon.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in High's Chapel with Bobby Newby and Ben Bailey officaiting. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High's Chapel.
