Obituary - Sally Fleck

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Sally J. Fleck, age 70 of Shelbyville, Tenn., will be held 12:00pm until 2:00pm Friday, May 8, 2015, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home. Mrs. Fleck passed from this life Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at the Glen Oaks Nursing Home in Shelbyville.
Sally was born on May 28, 1944, in Georgia, the daughter of the late Jay Robert and the late Nora Barnett Fleck and previously lived in Alpharetta and Smyrna, Ga. She graduated from Emory University, was employed by Grady Memorial and Piedmont Hospitals, and retired to Tennessee. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Diane Fleck Griswold, of Old Lyme, Conn.
Sally had a lifelong love of Tennessee Walking Horses, enjoyed showing her beautiful horses and was an active member the Tennessee Walking Horse Community in both Georgia and Tennessee. She owned many great horses such as; Eb's Knight Charger, Pearl Gunn and more.
She is survived by two nieces, Caroline Spencer Griswold of Essex, Conn., and Emily Lane Griswold of Old Lyme, Conn., and her brother-in-law, Timothy Griswold, also of Old Lyme, Conn.
