William H. (Billy) Brantley, 65, of Bradyville, Tenn., a retired walking horse trainer, died January 4, 2002. Brantley died following an extended illness at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Brantly was a member of Cannon Community Church.

Brantley was a charter member of the Walking Horse Trainers’ Association and was also a Mason. He served in the Navy from 1953 to 1957.

Brantley was preceded in death by his parents William Brantley and Naomi Higgins Brantley. He is survived by his wife, Delilah Keen Brantley; five children, Debbie Murphy of Mt. Juliet; Lisa Browning of Christiana; Michael Asbrock and Gabriel Jones of Murfreesboro and Patrick Jones of Bradyville; eight grandchildren and five nieces and nephews. He also has two brothers, Joe Blankenship of Rome, Ga. and Brian Zongker of Baltimore, Md.

Memorial services were held at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home on Sunday, January 6 and interment will be at the Milton Cemetery. Brantley was born in Milton, Tenn.
