Duane West, 61, of Shelbyville, Tenn., a long-time walking horse owner and exhibitor, died June 23. He was a breeder and the owner of Wilder West Farm in Shelbyville. West, was also a well-known musician. He traveled with Sonny James and the Southern Gentlemen Quartet in the late 1960s and was a member of the Jordanaires for over 28 years. He was a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. West is survived by a brother, Jay West; two sisters, Leah Carmean and Verna Wilkerson; and a caregiver, Paul Wilder. Visitation with the family will be 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Hillcrest.
