Helen Ellis, 90, passed away on March 12, 2008, in San Francisco, Calif. Ellis was born on March 16, 1918, in Longmont, Colo. She lived for many years in Chino, Calif.

 

She was proceeded in death by her husband, H.T. Ellis, on Oct. 11, 2006, and is survived by daughter Ronnie Ellis Robinson and granddaughter Jenny Robinson of San Francisco, Calif.       

 

Eillis and her husband, Tom, were long time walking horse owners and enthusiasts and had many top contenders with many top trainers such as Independent Threat trained by Billy Morgan and Brian Martin, April Love trained by Albert Rowland and Ray Rhoades, Pride’s Proud Mary trained by Wallace Brandon, You Light Up My Life trained by Sonny Holt and Pride’s Mr. Ebony trained by Vicki Self. The Ellis family purchased a farm in Lewisburg, Tenn., in the 70s that was named Stars and Bars Ranch that was later sold and became Fancy Free Farms.
