Mr. James Worley “Bud” Baumgardner, 70, of Shelbyville died Tuesday, November 20th. He was a native of Tazewell, Virginia; a retired employee of the U.S. Department of Defense; a member of the Tri State Walking Horse Association of Maryland; the Tennessee Walking Horse Owners and Breeders Association and a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served in the Korean War. He was the son of the late John Samuel and Mary Sheets Baumgardner. He is survived by his wife, Lavon Bordenet Baumgardner of Shelbyville; three sons, John Paul Baumgardner of Rockville, Maryland, Wayne David Baumgardner of Shelbyville, Richard Dale Baumgardner of Glenburnie, Maryland; a sister, Virginia Bowles of Lanham, Maryland and six grandchildren. Memorial Services were held Friday, November 23, 2001 at Hillcrest Funeral Home, Rev. Jack Carney officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
