The Subcommittee on Consumer Protection and Commerce of the Committee on Energy and Commerce will hold a hybrid legislative hearing that will include the PAST Act. The hearing will include both in-person and remote attendance on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at 11:00AM CST.

The subcommittee will have the hearing on 10 different bills, one of which is the PAST Act. The subcommittee testimony on the PAST Act will be from Katlin Kraska, Director of Federal Legislation, Government Relations at the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Industry responses opposing the PAST Act were filed with the subcommittee. Those responses came from the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ & Exhibitors’ Association, Walking Horse Trainers’ Association, Performance Show Horse Association, and the North Carolina Walking Horse Association.
