The Pleasure Walking Horse association of Tennessee (PWHAT) is announcing a new scholarship program for their youth members. The PWHAT Scholarship Program is being developed to provide financial assistance to our youth members seeking to earn a higher education degree. This scholarship program will make annual awards to selected youth applicants within the PWHAT membership.

The mission of the PWHAT Scholarship Program is to provide financial assistance to their individual members enrolled for undergraduate study in community colleges, trade schools and universities. Assisting the youth of the PWHAT organization will produce future leaders that can carry on the promotion and business of the pleasure walking horse both in and out of Tennessee.

The first Scholarship awards will be made in June 2022. The deadline for applying for the scholarships is June 1st of each year and the scholarship recipients will be announced at the PWHAT Jamboree in July of each year. Selection criteria will include past academic performance, involvement in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry and PWHAT, personal and academic references and proof of acceptance into a full-time program of study at an accredited college, university or technical school.

More information will be available soon on the PWHAT website and facebook page.
