 HERNANDO, Miss. - The Hernando Lions Charity Classic was held on Sept. 13, 2008, in Hernando, Miss. The show is the first of several fall shows held in Mississippi and was located at the Hernando Civic Center. The Hernando Lions Club sponsors the event and proceeds benefit the Mid-South Lions Sight Services and Desoto Sunrise Homes.

 Layne Leverette judged the 25 classes. Perry Thomas served as master of ceremonies. Charles Ritchie was the organist for the event and performed many of the crowd’s favorite tunes. Sid Abernathy captured the evening on film while Mark Anderson handled the duties of farrier.

 In the final class of the evening, the Walking Horse Stake class, Rebel’s Black Star and Shea Woods earned the Hernando Lions Charity Classic tricolor for Joel Stewart.
