SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration made an announcement regarding measures that would be taken to ensure the health and safety of the horses, integrity of the event, and the enforcement of the Horse Protection Act on August 9th.

There has been some criticism that the announcement of these measures came after the August 7th Celebration entry deadline.  While the announcement did come after the entry deadline, every effort was made to put the pieces in place to make the announcement prior to the entry deadline.  Unfortunately, it just could not be done.

With that in mind, The Celebration will make refunds available for owners or trainers who feel uncomfortable showing under these new conditions that should help provide a level playing field for all exhibitors and help make sure that only clean, sound horses enter the show ring for competition.
