· The Senator is aware of the recent activities and controversy surrounding the 2006 Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.
· The Senator is mindful of the historical significance of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration and its heritage within the state of Tennessee .
· He is very concerned about the economic impact of $38.6 million dollars annually to Bedford County .
· He is extremely concerned about the financial impact on the numerous local charities that depend on the Celebration to sustain them. (The Celebration has had a longstanding policy that all the food concessions are operated by local charities).
· He is aware that there are many households that are directly impacted (i.e., trainers, breeders and owners) by any unresolved situations in Walking Horse Industry – and is steadfast in his commitment to resolve this issue in a timely manner.
· He agrees that the welfare of the Tennessee Walking Horse may not be compromised when finding appropriate resolution to this issue.
