The 2013 Riders’ Cup season will be a special one for all Walking Horse Trainers’ after the recent addition of the sponsor for the Young Trainers division. The John Sharp family will sponsor the division in honor of their grandson, Andy Adkins, who passed away last year in an accident. Adkins was an extremely popular trainer and member of the Walking Horse Community.
The Andy Adkins Young Trainers division will be featured across the industry this year and each class will hold extra meaning to each of the trainers and friends of the late Adkins as they participate in his honor. The addition of the Andy Adkins Young Trainers division leaves only the Show Pleasure division available in the performance division.
