Riner promoted to head DQP
Wednesday, January 24, 2018
The SHOW HIO has promoted seasoned Designated Qualified Person John Paul Riner to the position of Head DQP. The position was available after Mitchell Butler tendered his resignation at the end of the 2017 show season.
Riner has been a DQP since 2010, and has worked in inspection for most of the major industry horse shows including The Celebration. “We are pleased to add someone of John Paul’s experience to the leadership of the SHOW HIO. John Paul has worked closely with the past two heads of SHOW, Dr. Steve Mullins and Mitchell Butler, and has a very good relationship with the other DQPs in the SHOW Organization,” said Scott Johnson, Celebration board liaison to the SHOW HIO.
As the Head DQP, Riner will be responsible for training of DQPs, working with the USDA, assigning DQPs, handling complaints and working with the Celebration board to ensure the responsibilities of the HIO are being met.
