On Thursday, January 2, 2014  2xWC Rodney Dangerfield passed away unexpectedly from medical complication at Sullivan’s Veterinary Clinic in Winnsboro, LA.   Foaled on May 28, 1997, he was by Gen’s Armed & Dangerous and out of Beloved’s Miss Delight.

Rodney was purchased by Bob Lawrence and Carol Hutto as a colt where he was placed under the direction of Blue Ribbon Stables and Doug Barnes and Jeff Byrom. Rodney caught the eyes of Bert Head as a five year old for his son Landon Head to campaign in the Park Pleasure division. Landon enjoyed many years with the beautiful black gelding winning over 90 blue ribbons, 2 World Championship titles and 2 Reserve World Championships and 25 Celebration ribbons.

In Rodney’s later years Landon shared the saddle with Chandler Byrom who captured a World Championship title in 2008 in the Youth 6-11 Park Pleasure under the direction of Landon Head.

In 2010 the decision was made to retire Rodney and let him enjoy the life on the trails and in the pasture.
Rodney was laid to rest at Head Farms in Jigger, Louisiana and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
