Ronnie L. Long, age 61 of Sharpsburg (native of Eminence), passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014.  He was a Mason by trade and loved raising Tennessee Walking Horses. He owned and raised several world champion and reserve world champion horses: Nightshade's Threat, Chrome Dollar, Reflection of Gin, Shez A Hole In One, Ted of Santana and Crème Brulé just to name a few. He loved his horses greatly and hope his memory lives on there the horses he raised He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of Eminence United Pentecostal Church.  Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Long. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Long, sons Michael and Jacob Long, father Marvin Long, sisters Marie Breeden (Tom Breeden), Marline Long, Mary Ann Bates (Scott Bates), Elizabeth Boggs (Sean Boggs) and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Prewitt New castle Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Eades officiating, Rev. Louis Edday will be assisting.

Honorary Pallbearers are Scott Bates, Sean Boggs, Michael Long, Jacob Long, Ernie Moore, Virgil Parrish, Garold Hyatt, Harold Chisholm and Bobby Taylor. Active Pallbearers are Jonathan Bates, Brandon Bates, Keith Perry, Robby LaFollette, Jamie Perry and Bryan Perry

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.
