The SHOW HIO has announced that all suspensions issued by them will be posted for the length of that suspension on its web site at www.showhio.com.  The policy went into effect in 2010 and the current suspension list can be viewed at the SHOW web site.

“We have stated from the beginning that SHOW will be transparent in its enforcement of the Horse Protection Act,” said Dr. Steve Mullins, SHOW President and Chief Executive Officer.  “Due to the sheer number of changes we have made in such a short time we have not communicated our activities as much or as soon as I would have liked.”

The online form lists the names of people on suspension as well as the length of their suspension, including the effective start and end dates of their suspensions.  Any associated fine amount is also listed on the form.

“What others do with this information is out of our control.  We are committed to enforcing the Horse Protection Act and providing the industry the information they need to know when making decisions for the care of their horse,” concluded Mullins.
